Follum, M. et al. (2020). “Improved Accuracy and Efficiency of Flood Inundation Mapping of Low-, Medium-, and High-Flow Events Using the AutoRoute Model”. Nat. Hazards Earth Syst. Sci. https://doi.org/10.5194/nhess-2019-180.
This project developed methods to estimate bathymetry within river channels. It also enabled for improved accuracy and computational efficiency of simulating flood inundation maps. By using a database approach flood scenarios can be pre-run, allowing for flood maps to be generated 3 times faster than previous versions of AutoRoute. This savings in computation time is crucial to decision makers.
